ABOX A3 4K Android TV Box Review
what's up guys Chigz from Chigz tech reviews and today I have another brand new Android TV box I'm going to be reviewing so this is the a box a3 Android TV box so we are going to be doing a quick unboxing followed by a few tests video tests full HD and 4k videos a few android games testing Kodi performance and finishing off with a benchmark and Wi-Fi test so let's begin with the specs I put the specs on the screen so you guys can have a quick read so the CPU is at s9 1 – octa-core running at 2 gigahertz yeah so this Android TV box has an 8 core processor ok the graphics the GPU is a mali 820 running at 750 megahertz you've got 2 gb of ddr3 ram 16gb of emmc internal storage we've got dual band Wi-Fi supporting 2.
4 gigahertz and 5 gigahertz bluetooth version for Android version 6 marshmallow ok and it supports Ultra HD 4k videos at 60 frames per second ok so let's get the Box open and see what it looks like so this is everything you get in the box so you got the instruction manual for the TV box and an instruction manual for the keyboard okay you've got so you've got a microUSB charger here for the keyboard HDMI cable a UK power adapter you've got the full featured remote control so I like this rumor I've used it before it's a very responsive remote control so this Android TV box comes with this awesome handheld full QWERTY keyboard okay you've got trackpad there it's a multi-touch trackpad by the looks of it you got all the multimedia functions here navigation and a full QWERTY keyboard I've got a similar keyboard to this already and I absolutely love it I've got it in white now with this box I've got a black one if I'll open the back I'll show you it takes it's got a rechargeable battery which lasts a very long time once you fully charge it and you've got a USB dongle so we'll be testing all this out and last but not least the actual Android TV box so wow this looks really nice very slick design you've got a nice matte finish in the center and you've got a trim on top and bottom which is black shiny and you've got a nice shiny a box logo in the center so it does look very nice I can see that looking pretty cool in the living room it's a totally different design and look from all the Android TV box that I've reviewed so far so this is going for a more wider shape so yeah I do like it so this is the latest a box a three android TV box running on eight cores so let's have a look at the ports okay so on the back you have the power optical audio connection AV connection you've got a network LAN port HDMI port and two USB ports these slots over here just events they're not memory card slots and on the side over here you have a full size SD card slot and that's how it looks at the bottom so just to give you guys an idea of the size of this unit I'll compare it to the MX q pro this is quite a popular brand the mxq Pro so let's compare it and see the size difference okay it just gives you the idea it is bigger MX q pro and this unit is more compact and lighter yes I just wanted to compare the size so I'm going to hook this up to my TV now and we're going to find out how well the a box a3 performs so this is the home screen for the a box a3 so it's got quite a nice layout let's go and have a look at all the apps that you get as standard so this is what you get as standard so the first thing I like to test on this box is airplay so I've already activated airplay from Media Center app here's my iPad so if I just scroll up click on airplay and click on media center there you go and if I click you can see that airplay is working absolutely fine I can move around and every page is working as it should yeah so my iPad this is an iPad air and it's on iOS 10 and airplay mirroring is working great so I'm going to plug this in and try out a few sample videos and see how well the Box performs so here I have a few Ultra HD and Full HD clips the first clip I'm going to play is an Ultra HD 4k sample clip by LG so this is a 4k Ultra HD clip by LG as you can see the clip looks absolutely amazing the quality is so clear and crisp I can't fault it the playback is so smooth so let's go back and try out another clip okay so let's try another Ultra HD 4k clip so as you can see this Ultra HD 4k clip plays very well it looks absolutely amazing so let's move on now to another clip so the next clip I'm going to try it is ultra HD football match by Samsung and as you can see the box handles this with ease the sample looks really good the clip plays very smooth and crystal-clear so the next clip I like to test is a 1080p full HD trailer so the Box handles movies played from the USB Drive very well as you saw I tried 4k and 1080p yes i've installed all my favorite apps the first thing I like to test is Cody so let's open up Cody here we are this is Cody this is the latest chicks all-in-one build so let's try something out and see how well it streams so I'm just going to play a trailer so let's quickly try something else I'll just play it any sort of football match or something and as you can see that's working really well so there you go guys that was Cody works really really well if you're interested in this build I put the links in the description so you guys can check it out so the next thing I like to try is my favorite show box so this is show box let's open something up and let's play a quick trailer show box works great so let's move on to the next test let's try some live television so if I just open this up and just play anything so live television is working great I'd like to try another channel out so let's move on to some gaming shall we I just connected my wireless controller this is an awesome wireless controller this is the g600 I'll put the links in the description in case you guys want to check it out the controller does work very well with this TV box and as you can see I'm able to fully control the box with this controller so the first game I'd like to try out is a Super Nintendo emulator so I just opened up a Super Nintendo emulator and let's try one of the games out as you can see it's working really nicely ok let's try it another game out this is a game I used to love playing back in the day yeah I used to love this game I've played it for a while there nice so Super Nintendo emulation works really well as you guys have just saw the next game I want to test out is another one of my favorites Real Racing 3 so just loaded up Real Racing 3 I am going to be using this controller review so as you can see I'm playing this game the game plays very well sounds great looks great the graphics look awesome so that was my quick gaming test the next thing I'm going to be doing is test of Wi-Fi speed so I'm getting download speeds of 36 megabytes and upload speeds of nine megabytes my actual internet connection is a fault you make connection so I'm very happy of the results of this Wi-Fi test the next test we're going to be doing is a quick benchmark test okay so we're just beginning the benchmark test now so this benchmark test will take a little time to complete what I'm going to do is actually speed up the whole process so you guys can get straight to the results so there you have it guys that a box a three achieved a total benchmark score of 39 thousand six hundred and eighty two the so far this is the highest score I've seen in an Android TV box so there you have it guys this is the a box a three Android TV box so I never experienced any lag when playing games or even navigating the
